I’m going to go ahead and say it. With this quarantine dragging on all the parents out there need these easy, skinny margaritas in their life. Probably all married people. Maybe just anyone who can legally drink? Plus, this is a great way to finish out the summer – just mix yourself an easy, skinny margarita and try to forget that this whole quarantine business ever happened.
I would say, “try to forget that the past 6 months ever happened”, but our amazing little love bug was born during that time so I can’t complain. I mean, the quarantine can’t be all bad if we got Ms. Lydi-Lu out of it. But still, as a mom with two little kiddos (who I love more than life itself), sometimes the end of the day calls for something refreshing and fast. Enter, the easy skinny margarita.
It’s easy because you are literally just slicing and juicing fruit. Its skinny because it has a lot fewer calories than a regular margarita – the majority of the calories come from the tequila. And, of course, its vegan. Put it all together and this easy skinny margarita is definitely a win in my book. Pair it with some chips and guacamole and I swear y’all, life does not get any better than this.
So, the combination that we have found that works the best makes enough for two easy skinny margaritas. You could definitely cut this recipe in half if you are wanting to just make one drink and save 1/2 of the orange in the fridge, or eat it, or use it as a garnish. Or, you know, just make two drinks and relax. You deserve it for making it through another week.
I really don’t even have any recipe notes to give you, that’s how easy these skinny margaritas are. Juice your fruit, add tequila, enjoy!
Easy Skinny Margaritas
- 6 limes
- 3 oranges
- 3 oz tequila
- 4 oz water
- stevia (or agave)
- Juice the limes and oranges into a cocktail shaker. Add the tequila and water. Add stevia or agave to taste. Pour over ice and enjoy!
- NOTE: I personally like stevia in this margarita to keep the calorie count low but agave is just as delicious!
Here’s to making it through one more quarantine month!
